What an extraordinary Chinese New Year Demonstration we had this year! Congratulations to all who participated, trained very diligently to show us your Art and celebrate all it has given you this year! The year of the Fire Horse.
Sihing Chris & Sihing Will, thank you for all the focussed training you provided to everyone and all your attention to details of the day! Ian Roache, thank you for capturing all the video footage of the day - it was perfect! Thanks to Jen Degrosky for the amazing photographs of the event! Thank you, everyone, for all the help with set-up & breakdown, for your dedication, excitement, and enthusiasm for your studies!
As we at Ming Tao T’ai Chi focus on continuing the lineage in honor of Master T. T. Liang’s T’ai Chi to music, we also honor our current Master Shu Kuang (Ray Hayward) with additions to our curriculum of forms he acquired from other masters such as Master Leung Kay Chi and Grandmaster Wai Lun Choi. Some of these forms were represented by demonstrations of the Twelve Animals of Liu He Pa Fa, Pa Kua, Hsing Yi, and others.
The dedication and respect for the art, instructors, and the traditions were obviously present, and the altar ceremony brought the spirit of the previous masters together with our students. The energy in the room was just perfect - excitement, respect, honor, love, positivity, confidence! It was an exceptionally emotional day for me to see how far everyone has come in their training. You all inspire me to constantly improve my art, and to bring the best of T’ai Chi to you always! - Diane
